She is available to lead movement as part of workshop programs or stand-alone workshops.
“CARAVAN:” A Sufi Experience
Come and renew your mind, body, and spirit. We will begin with some readings from Rumi and Hafiz. Following will be time for reflection and a walking meditation. Then through gentle movement exercises we will integrate this information into our bodies. We will close with Zikr (Sufi chanting). These events promise to be filled with delight and healing from the Beloved straight to each person present. Fill your minds with wisdom, while filling your heart with sweetness. Come one, come all, come caravan!
BRING: A friend, a journal and a light blanket
We are forming a group and may add times to gather as needed. We are creating a diverse group by meeting at different locations each month. See below for details.
Date: TBA - Winter/Spring 2008

What is DanceMeditation?
DanceMeditation is a unique, integrated movement meditation system for exploring and healing oneself. It approaches dance as a meditation and meditation as a dance. Both are an entwined opportunity to explore the relationships between self-&-other, self-&-cosmos, self-with-self and self-to-The Divine Eternal. In a world where culture distresses our bodies (pollution, stress, humiliating ideologies), we all need ample opportunity to heal and revitalize. DanceMeditation fosters the recognition of our inherent ability to heal and self-regulate. It assumes and enhances abundant bodymind integration. It encourages receptivity, creativity and present-ness.
Process and practices
We use a wide variety of movement techniques in a primarily non-verbal teaching modality geared to increase concentration, awareness and inner access. Breath-motivated stretching, movement, exercises, dance and whirling - our intrinsic, universal kinetic language - drop us out of our over-active, distracted mind and into a smooth intuitive flow of movement. In this non-competitive environment we feel our beauty, our harmony, our magnificence.
The individual and the group
Though each person is responsible for her/his own efforts and growth conducted through personal practice, this is not primarily a monastic or solitary exploration. We mostly practice side by side in community. We study in a group and live 'in the market place', with periods of retreat for intensive investigation and healing.
